A Message from Pamela
First runner up in a national competition is a pretty exciting place to be.
It all started with an artist, some scarves and a dream, and along came a contest with a call for entries from The Crafts Report. 32 quarter-finalists selected. I was 1 of 2 in the nation to advance to the 3rd and final round. 3 exciting and nerve-racking days. Being warned or having my account suspended by 2 different social media sites during all 3 rounds (kind of priceless!… and a Marketing Mastermind was born!). 72 incredibly long hours with very little sleep. 100s of press releases. 1000s of emails. 1227 likes. Many more friends and DyeSigns By Pamela fans later. 1 heck of a journey… and it’s only just the beginning. Nothing short of amazing.
You can’t say we didn’t try. We tried with all our heART. It may not have been enough for the win, but still making Louisville & Kentucky Proud. Thanks for taking the journey with me. For your like(s), for your shares, for your comments, for forwarding all my emails and not unsubscribing from my newsletter and for all my friends not unfriending me because of my hourly and sometimes half-hourly posts… I tried to keep them entertaining in true Pamela fashion, for everything… Team Pamela Rocks! It’s because of you I made it this far.
Thank You Team Pamela!

The past few months have been exciting, exhausting, and nerve-wracking. To be first runner up in a national competition is an honor. And to be featured in the October issue is the icing on the cake. I am excited for my feature to be seen across the country and to shine a light on my art and Kentucky crafts.” said Mattei.
Her photo that was in the running to be featured on the cover is an eye-catching rainbow of her hand dyed silk scarves. In fact, it is a display of over 75 of her hand dyed silk scarves.
