What a way to start off the new year!

I am featured in the January 2014 issue of The Crafts Report magazine in the article “Trends: Glimpses of 2014” with my insight on the Pantone Fashion Forecast colors. For those keeping count, that brings my grand total of times being featured in The Crafts Report magazine to three issues in just four months! Pretty cool! Check out the article...

31 Days of Thanks: Day 15

You have probably seen or heard about my feature on the cover of The Courier Journal Neighborhoods section. Many thanks to Courier Journal intern Zahra Farah who spent over two hours doing a phone interview with me and later came by the studio to see my art in person. I am so happy with how the article turned out and of course being featured on the cover was pretty cool too! Also, a special thank you to Bill Luster, who took the photographs for the article and a man who has shared two Pulitzer Prizes and photographed nine sitting U.S. Presidents and now me. As a photographer myself, it was quite an honor to be in front of the camera lens for a change with such a photography icon behind...

31 Days of Thanks: Day 14

To Elizabeth Kramer, the woman behind The Courier Journal Arts Bureau blog. Thank you for answering your phone that morning in July during the third round of the cover contest, for listening to my story, for blogging about my quest, but more importantly, for instilling in me the desire to have my artwork featured on the cover of a national magazine not because it won a contest, but because it deserves to be there. It will be one day. When it is, I will be calling you...

Celebrate DyeSigns By Pamela, Inc. Month

A lot has happened in the past four months! I was chosen to be one of thirty-two quarter-finalists to compete in a national competition to have my artwork featured on the cover of The Crafts Report, a monthly business magazine for the crafts professional. I advanced to all three rounds of the contest thanks to the overwhelming support of Team Pamela and finished first runner up. I launched a Twitter account. Follow me @DyeSigns_Pamela. I was featured on the cover of The Courier-Journal Neighborhoods section and had my photograph taken by a photography legend, Bill Luster, who has twice been the recipient of the team Pulitzer Prize Award and who has photographed nine sitting US Presidents… and now me! I have become an international artist with my scarves now available at Framing Dames, a gallery in Toronto, Canada. I have reached over 300 fans on my Facebook page. You too can become a fan at www.facebook.com/DyeSignsByPamela. I have revamped my website and have a fabulous new logo! Check them out at www.DyeSignsByPamela.com. As you are now reading, I have begun a blog. I have a fabulous feature coming out in the October issue of The Crafts Report magazine. And as if all of that wasn’t enough, Mayor Greg Fischer has proclaimed the entire month of October 2013 to be “DyeSigns By Pamela, Inc. Month” in Louisville, Kentucky. Talk about warp speed and non-stop excitement! But it is all good. So welcome to my blog. I am glad you have found me. This is just the beginning. There are more great things to come, I am sure of it. Stay tuned! Pamela Mattei, President DyeSigns By Pamela,...
