To my 150+ galleries who supported and promoted me throughout the contest on their gallery and personal Facebook pages and to their friends. Thank you. And an even bigger thank you for your patience as the lead time to receive the orders you had placed before the contest began grew longer and longer as I advanced through each and every round of the competition. Thank you not only for supporting me throughout the contest and for carrying my DyeSigns, but for your dedication to supporting handmade art and U.S. artists 365 days a year. Special thanks to Kim at Zig Zag Gallery, Ann and Melanie at Completely Kentucky, Annette at True Kentucky, Dawn at Quad City Arts, Sherry at Art on Symmes and Linda at GALA!...

31 Days of Thanks: Day 8

When I graduated from college I immediately started working on getting juried into the Kentucky Art Council’s Kentucky Crafted Program. I knew as I started my business, my affiliation with and the support of the Kentucky Arts Council and being a juried Kentucky Crafted artist would have a profound effect on my career. In addition to developing a following of retail customers, my participation in Kentucky Crafted: The Market exposed me to the wholesale marketplace and helped forge relationships with many Kentucky galleries who continue to carry my artwork today. Years later when I was ready to expand my business, I applied and was selected to represent Kentucky Crafted with a small group of other juried artists in a group booth at the Buyers Market of American Craft where I gained dozens of gallery accounts across the country. Many thanks to the Kentucky Arts Council and staff throughout the years who have impacted my career as an artist!...

Celebrate DyeSigns By Pamela, Inc. Month

A lot has happened in the past four months! I was chosen to be one of thirty-two quarter-finalists to compete in a national competition to have my artwork featured on the cover of The Crafts Report, a monthly business magazine for the crafts professional. I advanced to all three rounds of the contest thanks to the overwhelming support of Team Pamela and finished first runner up. I launched a Twitter account. Follow me @DyeSigns_Pamela. I was featured on the cover of The Courier-Journal Neighborhoods section and had my photograph taken by a photography legend, Bill Luster, who has twice been the recipient of the team Pulitzer Prize Award and who has photographed nine sitting US Presidents… and now me! I have become an international artist with my scarves now available at Framing Dames, a gallery in Toronto, Canada. I have reached over 300 fans on my Facebook page. You too can become a fan at www.facebook.com/DyeSignsByPamela. I have revamped my website and have a fabulous new logo! Check them out at www.DyeSignsByPamela.com. As you are now reading, I have begun a blog. I have a fabulous feature coming out in the October issue of The Crafts Report magazine. And as if all of that wasn’t enough, Mayor Greg Fischer has proclaimed the entire month of October 2013 to be “DyeSigns By Pamela, Inc. Month” in Louisville, Kentucky. Talk about warp speed and non-stop excitement! But it is all good. So welcome to my blog. I am glad you have found me. This is just the beginning. There are more great things to come, I am sure of it. Stay tuned! Pamela Mattei, President DyeSigns By Pamela,...
